Born into love
So small, but undaunted you grew
A fellow me lad with an eye to the girls
A nose for both feather and fur
Added to this you put fin in your game
As fishing for trout required no rod.
You caught them by mouth with no hook.
The family protector, you barked to give fright
But this covered the sweetest of natures.
A teddy bear lap dog with charm unsurpassed
You would cuddle both people and dogs
On occasion without introduction.
You played with the pups with such gentle & care
You taught them great lessons for life
You YEARNED to show kitties the same care and love
How puzzled you were when they hissed!
Oh My Flight ... how you will be missed!!
No more the gentle mouth takes hand
No more a soft chin on my lap
No more tempting F’lix to play
No more holes to dig down deep.
No more posssums, no more birds
The bunnies can feel safer.
Soft brown eyes no more will beg
For fun or food or walks.
No more pain or stress or hurt
No more feeling lost
At why you can’t now do the things
That used to be innate.
Dignity restored my sweet little brown!
Be free my Flight ...
Run through the grass and find a stream
and hunt those birds and fish
