Zac

Grant McLachlan wrote to us about the tragic death of his Vizsla, Zac (High Regard of Szep-Allat). He sent in the following beautiful poem that he wrote.

An Empty Place
There's an empty place at the foot of our stairs
Where a Vizsla used to sleep

If you knock at our door you'll hear no more
His barking loud and deep

If you hunt with me you will not see
Him leading me through the trees

Zac and Grant Image: Zac with the only pig they got while out hunting Or follow him back along a trail
He can re-trace with ease

If we stop for a rest and a bite to eat
He won't push in for a cuddle

If, parched with thirst, we seek a drink
He won't walk in the only puddle

He won't ride home in the back of the car
With his head upon my shoulder

He's gone you see, my hunting mate
And the world's a little colder

There's an empty place at the foot of our stairs .........

In memory of Zac.

We also are pained to say goodbye to our beautiful Flame! As the result of a head injury when young she has had a tumour that has recently been getting much worse. The hardest decision we have made was to say goodbye to her now but we feel that for Flame it was the best decision. Rest well my beautiful girl!

From Rita Chavez on the Internet: "Godspeed, Flame. The night is yet young and beautiful, as you were..."
