Velvet, the bitch, sniffed the baby over, shrugged as if to say ,"Not mine!"and went to bed. Hector the BIG OLD male immediately got this love struck look on his old grey muzzled face and stuck to that kid like glue.
![]() Thank you to Michelle taylor (Gamefinder Kennels) for this wonderful photo of 2 of her puppies having a Synchronised pee!
My brother got up to help with the situation and Hector immediately led him to the crying child, snuffling at her a whining. Hector apparently felt that since Brother had made the introductions the child must belong to him and as there was obviously something wrong with the kid NO ONE else was going to touch her. It took quite a bit of reassuring old Hector that it was OK to give the baby to the Mommy but once convinced he was fine with it thereafter. As the baby grew Sherry would visit the folks and had the habit of spreading a blanket on the livingroom floor and putting the baby down on it. Hector would then park himself right next to the blanket and stand guard. Eventually the baby got so she would start to try and crawl off the blanket. As she came closer and closer to the edge hector would get more and more nervous until just as she started to crawl off the edge, his big paw would come out and FIRMLY pin the baby down, He would the Howl until someone came running and redeposited the kid in the Middle of the blanket. Then he'd sigh, lay down, and resume his watchful BABYSITTING!
