Nicky & Michael Caddick held a Vizsla get together at their place at Rangiora
on March 8th. This is the comments about the day from Anne McMaster. On a lovely fine day in March twelve Vizslas and their owners gathered at Nicky and Mike's acreage in Loburn, North of Christchurch. The youngest Vizsla was 4 months old and the eldest 10 years. Regardless of age they all had a wonderful time and enjoyed running and playing together. The water trough was a great attraction - some Vizslas putting their heads under water and fishing off the bottom while others attempting to either swim, gaze at moving objects or just generally cool off. We had a sausage retrieve where the dogs were made to stay and then retrieve a sausage some 30 yards away. Needless to say eleven Vizslas demonstrated their eating prowess rather than their retrieving prowess with only one Vizsla doing a perfect retrieve. The winner was a dog called Oz who needless to say his owner is a Butcher!! It was a wonderful get together with numerous stories exchanged of life with a Vizsla. Hopefully this will become a regular event on our calendar.
